Nigerian international Geoffery Chinedu was involved as Chelsea eased to a 3-1 win over Astana in Thursday’s Europa Conference League clash.
Chinedu made his third appearance in the competition for Astana, though he remains without a goal in the tournament so far.
Softfootball notes that Chelsea’s victory was built around a standout individual display from Marc Guiu, who scored twice in the first half.
Guiu opened the scoring with a spectacular solo effort, cutting inside before side-footing home, before doubling his tally five minutes later with a well-taken touch and finish.

Renato Veiga added a third for Chelsea before halftime, though Astana did manage to pull one back to add some late tension to proceedings.
Despite the defeat, Chinedu worked tirelessly in attack and looked to trouble Chelsea’s defence whenever opportunities arose.
The Nigerian forward continues to gain valuable experience on the European stage as he seeks his first goal in the competition.
Chelsea’s comfortable win keeps their European campaign firmly on track as they continue to rotate their squad across multiple competitions this season, while Astana will look to bounce back in their remaining group fixtures.
