A brace from Shakirat Moshood and goals from Peace Effiong and Chidera Chidi powered Nigeria’s Flamingos to an emphatic 4-0 victory over tournament debutants Ecuador in their second Group A match at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup on Saturday.
Softfootball gathered that the convincing victory puts the Flamingos in a commanding position at the top of Group A with six points from two matches, leaving them on the verge of securing a place in the knockout stage after another impressive all-round performance.

The Flamingos had opened their campaign with a thrilling 4-1 victory over New Zealand.
Moshood broke the deadlock in the 28th minute after calmly converting from the penalty spot.
Chidi doubled Nigeria’s advantage in the 54th minute with a composed low left-footed finish that beat the Ecuador goalkeeper.
Effiong made it 3-0 on 66 minutes after capitalising on a poor clearance from the Ecuadorian goalkeeper to slot into an empty net.
Moshood completed her brace deep into stoppage time with a brilliant left-footed strike after meeting a well-worked cutback.
Nigeria will wrap up their Group A campaign against hosts Dominican Republic on Wednesday, October 23, with a chance to finish top of the group and head into the knockout rounds with maximum points.
