Super Eagles defender Olisa Ndah is expected to spend an extended spell on the sidelines after suffering a serious injury, his club Orlando Pirates has confirmed.

Softfootball understands that the Nigerian centre-back has been diagnosed with a tibia fracture, an injury that will keep him out of action for the remainder of the year. The setback comes after Ndah missed the MTN8 final following an injury sustained during a league match against Polokwane City.

The South African giants revealed that the nature and location of the fracture make the decision over surgery a complicated one, with the club’s medical team continuing to assess the best course of treatment.

Ndah’s absence is a significant blow for Orlando Pirates, who will be without one of their most reliable defenders for the coming months. The 26-year-old has established himself as a key figure for both club and country since joining the Buccaneers.

The lengthy layoff is also expected to affect the Super Eagles, with Ndah now set to miss Nigeria’s upcoming international fixtures as he begins his rehabilitation.
