Manchester City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega has reiterated his commitment to the Premier League champions, insisting he has no immediate plans to leave the Etihad Stadium despite interest from several clubs.

Softfootball noted that Ortega was linked with a move away from Manchester City during the last transfer window, with a number of clubs reportedly keen to sign the experienced shot-stopper. However, the German opted to remain at the club, where he continues to provide strong competition for first-choice goalkeeper Ederson.

Speaking to Sky Deutschland, Ortega admitted he feels valued at City and believes staying put remains the best decision for his career.

“I will still be here because I feel very comfortable.

“At the moment, there are few reasons to leave. I have played 36 games at a competitive level in the last two years, not a number that usually totals 12.

“I receive a lot of appreciation.”

The 31-year-old has earned widespread praise for his performances whenever called upon, particularly in domestic cup competitions and crucial Premier League fixtures, further cementing his importance in Pep Guardiola’s squad.
