Nigeria’s Super Eagles continue to lead the group with seven points despite not playing their Matchday Four fixture against Libya, who remain rooted to the bottom of the standings.

On Tuesday, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced that the match between Libya and Nigeria had been called off.

The decision came after the Super Eagles refused to play following an incident in which their chartered flight was diverted to a different airport by Libyan authorities, leaving the players and officials stranded for more than 10 hours without adequate arrangements.

CAF is expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident before making a final ruling on the abandoned fixture.
