Manchester United are reportedly ready to listen to offers for Harry Maguire when the January transfer window opens.

Softfootball notes that United could accept a fee starting from around £10million for the England defender, a major drop from the £30million valuation placed on him just over a year ago.

According to Daily Star, the reduced price shows that Manchester United now consider Maguire available for sale as they continue to reshape their defensive options.

The 31-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular starting place under Erik ten Hag in recent seasons.

Maguire was stripped of the captaincy last year and was close to leaving the club when West Ham showed interest, but the move eventually collapsed.

Although he later worked his way back into Ten Hag’s plans, injuries have continued to affect his progress.

Last season, Maguire started only 18 Premier League matches after suffering groin and muscular problems. Those fitness issues also forced him to miss the European Championship.

His injury problems continued last Sunday when he was substituted at half-time during Manchester United’s 0-0 draw with Aston Villa because of a foot injury.

Maguire is not expected to return to first-team action until next month, and by then he could find himself further down the centre-back pecking order.

United signed Matthijs de Ligt from Bayern Munich in the summer, and Ten Hag is expected to continue giving the Dutch defender important minutes.
