Nigeria defeated Zimbabwe 2–0 on Tuesday, 26 May 2026 in the Unity Cup semi‑final, but once again, a huge number of fans couldn’t even watch the match because there was no proper stream available.

The big question remains: why can’t the NFF fix this same issue Nigerian fans complain about every single time? Even when the Super Eagles, Super Falcons, Flying Eagles, Falconets, and other national teams play in Nigeria, supporters still struggle to find where to watch the games no TV coverage, no livestream, nothing. It’s embarrassing for a footballing nation of Nigeria’s size.

Fans, pundits, and football analysts have repeatedly pointed out that this is one area where the NFF continues to fail badly. It simply shouldn’t be this difficult.

Look at the U17, U20, and U23 teams, both men’s and women’s, whenever they play in international competitions, there is often nowhere to watch them. If the opposing country doesn’t stream the match, Nigerian fans are left completely stranded.

Softfootball can confirm that countries like Zimbabwe, Malawi, Guinea, Zambia, and many others consistently provide streams for their matches. So what excuse does Nigeria have?

Nigeria has the fanbase, the talent, the attention, and the resources to do this properly. Yet this same issue keeps repeating itself, and it has become a major point of frustration for supporters who simply want to watch their national teams play.
