Fulham and Newcastle United will bring their Premier League campaigns to a close on Sunday afternoon when the two sides meet at Craven Cottage with hopes of securing a top-half finish.

Although both clubs sit only three points behind eighth-placed Chelsea, results elsewhere have already ended their chances of qualifying for European football next season. Newcastle enter the final day in 11th place with 49 points, while Fulham are 13th with the same tally but an inferior goal difference.

Marco Silva’s side have struggled to maintain consistency during the closing weeks of the campaign. Fulham have managed just one victory in their last six league matches and recently dropped more points in a frustrating 1-1 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Antonee Robinson’s penalty against Wolves represented only Fulham’s second goal in their last six Premier League outings, underlining the attacking problems that have slowed their momentum.

Despite those difficulties, Craven Cottage has remained a reliable venue for the Cottagers this season. Fulham have recorded 10 home victories in the league, placing them among the Premier League’s stronger home sides.

Newcastle, meanwhile, have shown signs of improvement late in the season after enduring a poor run earlier in the campaign. Eddie Howe’s men collected seven points from their last three matches, including a 3-1 victory over West Ham United last weekend.

However, the Magpies continue to struggle defensively, having failed to keep a clean sheet in eight consecutive matches. Their away form has also been inconsistent, with only four league victories on the road all season.

Ahead of Sunday’s fixture, Newcastle United posted on their official X account to build excitement for their final Premier League match of the 2025-26 season against Fulham at Craven Cottage, highlighting the occasion as an important conclusion to the campaign.

Newcastle have already beaten Fulham twice this season in both the Premier League and EFL Cup, but Fulham will hope to use home advantage to end the season positively in front of their supporters.

Team News

Fulham could welcome Ryan Sessegnon back into the squad after the winger returned to training following a muscle injury. However, Joachim Andersen remains suspended, while Jonah Kusi-Asare is sidelined with a knee problem.

Harry Wilson is expected to return to the starting lineup after beginning the Wolves match on the bench.

Newcastle are still assessing Sandro Tonali after the midfielder picked up a hamstring issue against West Ham United. Joe Willock is expected to step in if Tonali is unavailable.

Joelinton, Fabian Schar, Tino Livramento, Emil Krafth and Lewis Miley remain sidelined through injury, while Anthony Gordon is unlikely to start despite recovering from fitness issues.
