A fresh debate has erupted among Liverpool fans after The Overlap posted a clip via their x handle asking one simple but explosive question:

“Where does Mo Salah rank among your club’s legends?”

And as expected, football fans did not keep quiet.

The discussion quickly caught attention after one of the speakers boldly claimed that Mohamed Salah ranks only sixth among Liverpool’s all-time greatest players  a statement that immediately caused disbelief in the room.

During the exchange, one voice said:

“And I put Salah sixth on all-time greatest ever Liverpool players.”

That instantly drew a stunned response:

“That’s bizarre.”

As the debate heated up, the speaker tried to clarify the context after confusion around Salah’s place among Premier League greats and foreign players. One argued:

“Well, he said that he’s the second greatest Premier League player of all time, but the sixth greatest Liverpool player. That seems like a strange correlation.”

The clarification then came:

“No, I said foreign player.”

And when pushed to name the five Liverpool legends supposedly ahead of Salah, the answer was direct:

“Dalglish, Gerrard, Souness, Rush, Barnes, Salah.”

That final list brought the now-viral reaction:

“Wow.”

Softfootball has reported the debate has only intensified because it comes at a time when Salah’s future at Anfield remains a major talking point, with growing reports over a possible free-transfer exit, while his influence on the international stage remains just as strong after inspiring Egypt into the AFCON semi-final following victory over Ivory Coast.

That contrast between uncertainty at club level and continued brilliance for country has only added more weight to the conversation around where he truly stands among Liverpool’s all-time greats.
