Axel Disasi has spoken positively about his loan spell at West Ham United, admitting he is trying to enjoy every moment after a difficult period at Chelsea.

The French defender made the comments on March 11, 2026, in quotes shared by Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle.

Axel Disasi on West Ham loan: “I try to enjoy every moment, because I know that it’s not guaranteed”. “So far my experience here at West Ham is very nice. At the moment, when I’m on the pitch the feeling is great”, told @TheAthleticFc.

Softfootball earlier reported, Disasi joined West Ham on a straight loan deal until the end of the 2025–26 season on February 2, 2026. The move came after a difficult spell at Chelsea where the defender had fallen out of the first-team picture under former head coach Enzo Maresca.

Prior to his departure, Disasi had reportedly gone more than a year without making a senior appearance for the London club after being excluded from regular matchday squads. His situation prompted a temporary move in search of playing time and a chance to rebuild confidence.

Since arriving at West Ham, the 27-year-old has quickly established himself as an important figure in the team managed by Nuno Espirito Santo. Disasi made his debut in a 2–0 Premier League victory over Burnley and has since become a regular starter in the Hammers’ defensive line.

His performances have come at a crucial moment for West Ham, who are battling to secure their position in the Premier League while also pushing forward in domestic cup competition.

West Ham recently secured their place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup after a dramatic 5–3 penalty shootout victory over Brentford following a 2–2 draw at the London Stadium on March 9, 2026. The match produced an intense finish, with West Ham converting all five penalties to seal progression in front of their home supporters.

Disasi’s strong form has also sparked speculation about a potential permanent move to West Ham. The defender originally joined Chelsea in 2023 for a reported £38.8 million, but the club may now be forced to accept a financial loss if he departs permanently.

Reports suggest West Ham could consider a permanent transfer worth around £25 million if they successfully maintain their Premier League status this season. Such a deal would represent a significant reduction from Chelsea’s original investment, though the final valuation could still change depending on Disasi’s performances during the remainder of the campaign.

For now, the French defender appears focused on enjoying his football again while helping West Ham navigate a challenging and important phase of the season.
