DR Congo international, Yoane Wissa is desperate to play football elsewhere and has focused on a move to Newcastle United from Brentford this summer.
Softfootball understands that the 28-year-old has already informed the Bees of his desire to join the Magpies. He had a constructive talk on the issue with head coach Keith Andrews after he returned for pre-season.

According to football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle, although Wissa has been training with the team, he still want to leave Brentford this summer.
Fabrizio wrote:
“Yoane Wissa, pushing now to join Newcastle as negotiations between clubs are underway.
“Brentford are working on Ouattara deal and that can open doors for Wissa’s exit, as @SkySports_Keith reports.
“Wissa keeps pushing to join #NUFC.”
Brentford are now working on the possibility of signing Burkina Faso international, Dango Ouattara which will now free Wissa to join Newcastle United before the close of the transfer window on September 1.
Wissa was a super regular for Brentford last season and formed a solid partnership in attack with Bryan Mbeumo, scoring a combined 39 goals in the Premier League. Wissa with 19 goals and four assists in 35 appearances while Mbeumo had 20 goals with seven assists.
The Cameroonian was later shipped out to Manchester United for a whopping £71 million while Wissa is only valued at £25million plus £5million in add-ons.
Wissa was also linked to Tottenham Hotspur like Mbeumo when manager Thomas Frank left Brentford for Dany Levy’s Spurs. But Europa League winners were rebuffed as the player had his heart set on signing for the Magpies.
After threatening not to train or play for the Brentford again, Wissa has gradually been reintegrated into the squad. The Bees will play their opening Premier League fixture against Nottingham Forest on August 17.
