Having spent 4 years with Flamengo, the 21 year old full back who has now been capped by Brazil might have left the best way to say goodbye to fans after he scored a late winner for Flamengo in a 2-1 win in a league game some hours ago.

The goal, Wesley’s only second goal for Flamengo came in the 85th minute of the match and sealed the maximum points for Flamengo.

His goal is captured in the goal highlight posted by Flamengo on the official X handle. The goal can be watched below:

Last night’s performance by Wesley has ignited the transfer as Roma has decided to intensify their pursuit and seal a deal with Flamengo for the right back. In reaction, Flamengo are sealing their own deal for a new right back in AC Milan’s Emerson Royal.

Transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano has also hinted that the deals are about to be sealed after he posted on his verified X handle.

His post read:

“Emerson Royal to Flamengo and Wesley to AS Roma, both deals are set to be sealed.

“Flamengo will pay €9m for Emerson Royal to AC Milan and let Wesley join AS Roma for €25m plus add-ons.

“Fla director Boto, on it to close both deals today.”

Once the deal goes through, Flamengo will be making a €16m profit and sees them replace Wesley with a worthy right back with a good attacking mind set and European experience.

Flamengo’s new man, who is also Brazilian, had played in Real Betis, Barcelona, Tottenham Hotspurs and AC milan.
