Softfootball has gathered that Brazil’s injury concerns have intensified following multiple setbacks during the recent international break.

Wesley Gasolina, fullback for AS Roma, sustained a right thigh muscle injury during the friendly against France, forcing his immediate withdrawal from national team duties after medical confirmation.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano through his official X account, Wesley’s injury comes in the same match that saw Raphinha pick up a muscle problem that will sideline the Barcelona winger for four to five weeks.

Romano reported:

AS Roma fullback Wesley also suffers muscle injury and leaves Brazil national team with immediate effect.

The double setback has raised concerns within Brazil’s camp, with questions emerging over pitch conditions at Gillette Stadium and the increasing strain of a congested football calendar ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

For Roma, Wesley’s absence represents a significant blow, especially after his promising start following a summer move. The defender is now expected to miss key Serie A fixtures, disrupting the club’s momentum as they push for consistency this season. Fans have also voiced frustration, pointing to international breaks as a growing risk to player fitness and club ambitions.

Meanwhile, Joaquín Panichelli has suffered a devastating anterior cruciate ligament injury during training, ruling the RC Strasbourg striker out of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The injury adds to the growing list of casualties, highlighting the physical toll on players across competitions.
