Speaking after the match in an interview shared by football expert, Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle, Gabriel was delighted to be part of the team following some weeks absent due to injury. He declared:

First, I want to say thanks God. It was difficult for me, I always want to help the team, but now I’m so happy to be back. I think today was a brilliant day for everyone, how we worked together. We need to keep going.

Mikel Arteta’s men have been grinding out results in recent weeks and during the Boxing Day fixtures, Arsenal defeated Brighton 2-1 in a keenly contested match to maintain their slight advantage over Manchester City on top of the premier league table.
