Virgil van Dijk: This season will be tough for Liverpool

Liverpool captain, Virgil van Dijk says it will be a tough season for the Reds after they lost 2-1 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Softfootball reports.

Liverpool lost 1-0 to Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League match played in midweek and went into the Premier league match-day 7, hoping for a win to maintain top spot with Arsenal breathing down their neck.

However, they suffered a late goal by Brazilian star Willian Estevao. Writing on his official X handle, Fabrizio Romano informed. He wrote:

Virgil van Dijk: I’ve said repeatedly that this season will be tough.

It’s not only because of happens on the pitch, but also because of what has happened off it.

Liverpool dropped into second place courtesy of the defeat as Arsenal jumped to top of the table after their 2-0 victory over West Ham United at the Emirates.

Virgil van Dijk was involved for 90 minutes against the Blues at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea went in front from a Moises Caicedo thunderbolt. It was a goal that could easily compete for the goal of the month of October or even be in for a shout at least for nomination for goal of the season.

Dutch International, Cody Gakpo converted a half chance after receiving a pass from Alexander Isak in the second half but it was Chelsea that had the last laugh with a goal from Willian Estevao.
