Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior has tendered a public apology to the club following his erratic behaviour during the El Clasico after he was substituted, Softfootball reports.
The Brazilian playmaker was removed in the second half as Real Madrid lead Barcelona 2-1 inside the Bernabeu but he was left furious at Los Blancos manager, Xabi Alonso and make hand gestures to show his disgust at being substituted.

The player has now released a statement which was shared via Fabrizio Romano’s official X handle.
Vini Jr statement
Today I want to apologize to all the Madridistas for my reaction when I was substituted in the Clásico. Just as I have already done in person during today’s training, I also want to apologize again to my teammates, the club, and the president.
Sometimes passion gets the better of me because I always want to win and help my team. My competitive character stems from the love I feel for this club and everything it represents. I promise to keep fighting every second for the good of Real Madrid, as I have done since the first day.
Real Madrid’s management were angry at the incident and discussed disciplinary action against the player. They were not happy with the insensitive nature of the player to recognise that his substitution was down to tactical reasons, rather than the Coach not liking him.
Vinicius is currently negotiating a new contract with Real Madrid but the club are yet to agree on a deal as the salary he is demanding is too high and the club do not want to break their salary structure for him.
Vinicius sees himself as a very important player for Real Madrid and reports in some quarters say if he is not seen as indispensable, he might seek a move at the end of the current season.
