Victor Osimhen Flies to Istanbul, Set for Permanent Galatasaray Move

Victor Osimhen is set to become a permanent Galatasaray player after a prolific loan season in which he netted an impressive 37 goals across 41 matches.

The Nigerian forward has reportedly signed a four-year contract worth €18 million per year, turning down more lucrative offers, including a sizable bid from Saudi giants Al-Hilal, to stay in Istanbul.

Key to finalising the deal was Galatasaray’s vice president, Abdullah Kavukcu, who flew to Italy to personally wrap up the agreement. He returned to Istanbul with Osimhen, accompanied by Italian Agent George Gardi, who also played a major role in negotiations with Napoli.

Softfootball earlier reported that both Napoli and Galatasaray had signed and exchanged documents regarding Victor Osimhen, and with the Nigerian already on his way to Istanbul to personally see the deal over the line, then Fenerbahçe fans can be confident and rest assured that the deal is only missing the official club announcement.

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development via his official X account, posting a picture of Osimhen with Kavukcu and Gardi, writing:

According to Softfootball sources, Galatasaray will pay €40 million upfront, with another €35 million due by the end of 2026. Interestingly, the deal includes a strict clause preventing Osimhen from joining any Italian club for the next two years. Should that happen, Galatasaray would owe double the original fee.

Conflicting reports surrounding the release clause have surfaced. While some sources suggest Napoli would receive 10–15% of profits on any sale above €75 million, other sources claim no such clause was included.

Despite interest from Premier League sides and Saudi clubs, Osimhen made it clear that Galatasaray was his preferred destination. The transfer faced weeks of delays due to Napoli’s demand for concrete payment guarantees. Galatasaray eventually revised their offer, tripling the initial proposal to get the deal over the line.
