Vanja Milinković-Savić, 28, arrives Naples to complete his Torino-Napoli move

Having finalized a deal to sign Vanja Milinković-Savić from Torino for €21 million, Napoli are now set to welcome the Serbian goalkeeper for his medicals.

Softfootball gathered that Napoli and Torino agreed to a €21 million deal which exceeds his €19 million release clause to secure a flexible payment structure that will see them pay the fees in a stretch of the fours years.

Milinković-Savić, had been Torino’s first-choice goalkeeper for the past four seasons. He joins Napoli on a 4 year deal with an option to extend and will earn €1.7 million annually according to journalist, Nico Schira.  

The Serbian international news was confirmed by Fabrizio Romano who had posted on his verified X handle about the transfer. He wrote:

“Vanja Milinković-Savić to Napoli, here we go! Verbal agreement in place with Torino for Serbia goalkeeper to join Conte’s squad.

“Milinković said yes to Napoli in June, fee worth €21m to Torino paid in four years.”

To finalize the deal, the tall goalkeeper arrived Naples for his medicals today. Fabrizio posted a video of the goalkeeper on his verified X handle this morning.

The 28 year old had been a Manchester United player in 2014 but did not make any appearance for the club as he was not granted work permit by the UK government. He eventually was released by United.

Milinković-Savić joined Torino in 2017 and after a few loan spells, his contract was extended till 2025.

Internationally, he has made 10 appearances for the Serbia national team including playing in all three group stage matches of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar where they finished fourth. Milinković-Savić had made his senior national team debut in 2021.

As Antonio Conte builds to defend the Serie A title with lots of new arrivals in the club, Milinković-Savić will add more stifle to the Napoli defense next season.
