Former Nigeria winger John Utaka has tipped Montpellier forward Jerome Adams to become a key figure for the Super Eagles once he earns his first call-up.
Adams has represented Nigeria at U-20 level but is still waiting on a senior invitation. Softfootball gathers that Utaka, speaking to Brila FM, believes the striker has the tools to succeed at the top level.
He said:
Adams is a potential Super Eagles striker. He’s a hard worker, has a good size for a striker and a great mindset.

Utaka added that the young forward simply needs the opportunity to prove himself on the international stage, noting:
I believe he will take his chance in the national team when he is handed one.
Adams is currently working his way back from an injury picked up before the last international break, which has delayed any possible debut. Utaka’s endorsement adds to growing calls for the forward to be given a chance soon.
Nigerian football fans will be hoping the striker returns to full fitness in time for the next set of fixtures.
