UPDATE: Elliot set to leave Liverpool for RB Leipzig after agreeing personal terms

Harvey Elliot is now set to become a new RB Leipzig player as he has agreed personal terms with the German team. Softfootball had reported how Leipzig are looking to replace outbound Xavi Simmons.

Elliot who joined Liverpool form Fulham in 2019 at age 16 has now become a man made in the Reds. The 22 year old made his debut in 2021 and has since become a regular in the first team. He has made 95 appearance since but scored only 5 goals.

Now, the English man wants a new adventure as he is reported to have agreed to Leipzig’s offer. Liverpool and Leipzig are still in talks and have reached no agreement yet but Elliot’s agreement to the German’s offer means things will steady up rapidly.

Softfootball had earlier revealed that talks have now progressed to the stage of contract negotiations, with Leipzig keen to present a long-term project that puts Elliott at the heart of their attacking rebuild. The Bundesliga side is moving decisively, having already lost Simons, who’s set to join Chelsea, and Elliott is viewed as the ideal successor in terms of profile, age, and technical ceiling.

Leipzig are also on the verge of losing striker, Benjamin Sesko who has given greenlights for a move to Liverpool rivals, Manchester United.

Elliot has won 5 trophies with Liverpool including the Premier League titles, two English League Cups and the English FA Cup. Internationally, he was crowned U21 Euros champion twice in 2023 and 2025.

According to transfer journalist, Florian Plettenberg, the English man is intent about this move. Florian took to his verified X handle to give the recent update on Elliot’s move to Leipzig.

He wrote:

“Harvey #Elliott and RB Leipzig are already in advanced talks over personal terms. Leipzig want him, as revealed days ago.

“Concrete negotiations between the clubs are expected to follow once a verbal agreement is in place. Loan with option, obligation, or a permanent deal? Still open. Important: Elliott is keen to join Leipzig. #LFC.”

Liverpool have also lost Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich this summer but they have brought in Hugo Ekitike from Frankfurt.
