Sporting CP winger Francisco Trincao believes teammate Viktor Gyokeres has the quality and mentality to succeed at one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
The Sweden international has attracted significant attention following his impressive performances and goalscoring form for Sporting.
Gyokeres has reportedly been linked with several major clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea and Barcelona, as speculation continues over his future.
Trincao believes the striker has already proven himself at a high level and is capable of competing anywhere in Europe. Trincao told Relevo.
He surprised me a lot. At first I saw that he had a lot of quality, but after a few games, when you saw that he continued to score goals and be competitive, with the mentality he had, it surprised me a lot.
The Portuguese winger praised Gyokeres’ consistency and strong mentality, insisting the striker has continued to perform at a high level.
He has done very well for two years now and I think he has the ability to play in a big club, even though for me he is already in a big club.
Trincao added that Gyokeres possesses the mentality required to succeed at the highest level.
