Tottenham midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur is scheduled to undergo surgery which will keep him out for about three months on the sidelines, Softfootball reports.
The 28-year-old, who extended his Spurs contract in October will be missed as he is one of the first names of Thomas Frank’s squad for every match-day. Bentancur will therefore miss 13 matches for Tottenham in all competition due to injury.

According to football expert, Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle, informs that the Uruguayan is schedule to be out for a while and Spurs are looking into the January market for solutions. He wrote:
Rodrigo Bentancur will be out for three months as he needs surgery, back before the end of the season. Tottenham now to explore midfielders’ market in January.
Unfortunately, Tottenham are without the injured James Maddison and Pape Sarr is still at the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) with Senegal. This may force Spurs into a search for new midfielders in the January window.

The London club have reportedly shown interest in former Chelsea captain Conor Gallagher as he is keen to leave Atletico Madrid, and one wonders if the latest injury blow will force the Lilywhites to accelerate their pursuit.
Tottenham Hotspur finished 16th last season but won the Europa League after a 1-0 win over Manchester United. They are currently 14th on the premier league table with 27 points after 21 matches so far this campaign.
