Postecoglou arrived at Spurs with the task of rebuilding the team and implementing an attacking style of football, but inconsistent results have placed his position under scrutiny.

The club’s hierarchy are expected to assess the manager’s performance before making a final decision over whether he will remain in charge.

Although Postecoglou still has a long-term contract, Tottenham’s poor campaign could force chairman Daniel Levy and the club’s board to consider a change in the dugout.

The manager will be hoping to convince the hierarchy that he remains the right man to lead the rebuilding project.

However, with supporters demanding improvement and the club eager to return to challenging for European football, Postecoglou’s position appears increasingly uncertain.

A decision on his future is expected once Tottenham complete their assessment of the season.
