Tottenham Hotspur followed up their good showing against Paris Saint-Germain in the Super Cup final with a comfortable 3-0 win at home over Burnley, Softfootbal reports.
It was a home debut for new manager Thomas Frank in the premier league for Spurs since he joined from Brentford and one he must have enjoyed a lot. He trusted Brazilian Richarlison forward over Dominic Solanke and the former Everton forward delivered with a brace and Brennan Johnson wrapped it off.

Monitoring the lineup via Tottenham’s official club media, it noted that Ghana international, Mohammed Kudus who was one of the standout players for Spurs against PSG started again. The former Ajax midfielder moved to the North London side this summer following a big money deal and has immediately won the hearts of Spurs fans from the pre-season games he has featured in so far.
Lucas Bergvall who came from the benched against PSG was handed a starting spot by Thomas Frank against the newly promoted Burnley while the likes of Bentancur and Palhinha, who just joined from Bayern Munich dropped to the bench. For the visitors, former Manchester City captain Kyle Walker led the defence for the Clarets. Also in the line-up was ex-Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri but Lesley Ugochukwu, who joined from Chelsea started from the bench.
Cristiano Romero, who was official made captain last week by Thomas Frank led the team out for the first game in the 2025/26 Premier League and they got the fans bouncing inside the London stadium as Richarlison scored the first goal of the encounter. The goal was assisted by Mohammed Kudus.
The first half ended 1-0 but Spurs continued their dominance in the second half and again it was the same combination that produced the second goal for the home side. Kudus fed the ball into the path of the in-form Richarlison and he scored an incredible goal that made even the opponents tempted to applaud him.
Brennan Johnson ensured that there were no surprises from the away side as he scored the third goal after receiving a pass from Pape Matar Sarr to finish the game off at 3-0.
