Fikayo Tomori has reportedly rejected the opportunity to join Juventus during the January transfer window, choosing instead to remain at AC Milan and fight for his place under new head coach Sergio Conceicao, with Softfootball understanding the England defender believes he can re-establish himself as a key figure at the San Siro.
The 27-year-old has endured a frustrating campaign, falling down the pecking order and making his last Serie A start for the Rossoneri in early October.
Despite speculation linking him with a move to Turin, Tomori is said to be determined to prove himself under Conceicao, who recently replaced Paulo Fonseca as Milan manager.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the former Chelsea defender has no intention of leaving the club this month and wants to spend at least the next six months competing for a regular starting role.
The report also claims Tomori has received encouragement from several of his Milan teammates, who have urged him to remain at the club until the end of the season before considering his long-term future.
A strong second half of the campaign could yet see the defender reclaim his place in Milan’s starting XI and strengthen his prospects of returning to the England squad.
