Having reached agreement on fee for transfer, Malick Thiaw has now been give n permission to join Newcastle United. Softfootball has been monitoring the situation that has really been full of events in the last hours.
Before a price was finally agreed, the two clubs were at loggerheads earlier with Milan rejecting the offer. After much discussions, they finally reach an agreement which will see the Serie A side get €38m with further add-ons amounting too €4m.

Thiaw had rejected every other offer on his table except Newcastle’s who seem to have enticed him with Champions League football. Milan did not qualify for any European competition this season as they finished outside the European spot and did not win the Coppa Italia.
The German defender had ben persuaded by Max Allegri to stay in San Siro but it all fell on deaf ears. The 23 year old who only joined Milan in 2022 made only 68 appearances and scored no goals for the San Siro side.
Liverpool had hijacked their Ektike deal while United bulldozed them in the Sesko saga. Now the League Cup winners are facing a hard time in the transfer window as they urgently need to sign players ahead of the coming season.
Keeping tabs on the update, German transfer guru, Florian Plettenberg posted on his verified X handle how the €42m is being agreed on.
