The Reason We signed Kepa, Arsenal Sporting Director Confesses…

Arsenal Sporting Director, Andrea Berta has confessed the reason why Arsenal went ahead to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea. Softfootball had earlier reported the confirmation of Arsenal signing Kepa from Chelsea on a three year deal worth £5m. Berta reacting to the signing said;

we are really excited to have Kepa join our Arsenal family.

The goalkeeper who had been between the sticks for Real Madrid in 2024 brings a lot of experience to the Arsenal squad as they prepare to challenge again for the Premier League title and Berta recognized this in his admiration of the new player saying.

He is a player with great experience, someone who has already won major trophies, and we cannot wait for him to join the group and help the club win.

Kepa knows it is an exciting time to be at Arsenal and we know he is a player who will bring with him a winning mentality.

We welcome him and his family to the club, and look forward to him meeting the players and staff, with everyone excited to see him.

Arrizabalaga became the 6th goalkeeper Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has signed since joining the club. The Spanish manager could not stop lauding his fellow countryman after he signed his contract papers. These were his statements;

We are really happy to have Kepa joining us. He is a player we know, having come up against him many times in recent seasons.

He brings a wealth of experience, which his teammates will benefit from, and he has a real hunger to win. Kepa works hard and will elevate our levels.

I know he will fit in perfectly, already knowing some of his teammates, and we are really excited about his future with us.

Kepa becomes the first new signing officially unveiled by Arsenal as softfootball can confirm that more unveilings will be coming in the next few days as Martin Zubimendi arrived in London to finalise his move to the Gunners from Real Sociedad.

Although Real Madrid have inquired about his situation in recent weeks to make a final attempt, Zubimendi and the team coached by Mikel Arteta have been in talks for several months.

According to Mikel Recalde of Spanish outlet Noticias de Gipuzkoa, it reports that Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi travelled to London on Sunday to complete his transfer to Arsenal.
