Unai Emery paid tribute to Aston Villa’s supporters and players after a dramatic 3-2 victory over West Ham United earlier today, describing the performance as another example of his side’s growing resilience and belief, Softfootball reports.
Villa’s latest win further underlined their strong league form. Having already climbed to third place following last week’s dramatic late winner against Arsenal, today’s result only strengthened their grip near the top of the table as the season continues to gather pace.

The positive momentum is not limited to domestic competition either. Aston Villa are also enjoying a strong Europa League campaign, with an impressive 2-1 away victory over Basel helping them consolidate a place inside the top eight of the league phase standings.
Speaking to VillaTV in a post-match interview shared via the club’s official X handle, the Villa boss reflected on a game that saw his team fall behind twice before mounting an impressive comeback. Emery said:
Thankful for our supporters. They are with us here today, a lot of supporters. And, of course, we felt it, how they are pushing us to get a victory, a new victory.
Of course, we struggled, we started the day poor, like the season, but we reacted like the season: fantastic. The players, they are protagonists, and of course, after, how we can feel strong in our structure, tactically, feel comfortable each one with their task. Then try to show their qualities.
But after, to get our structure strong, tactically, discipline, and then play football, of course, how we are in our mentality as well, responding when we are losing, like today.
We started two times, we were behind in the result, how we came back, in that moment, those goals, I think, is fantastic, because we were getting balance, even losing, and keeping our gameplan, like we planned before the match.
