Softfootball understands that American rapper Snoop Dogg now owns shares in the Championship club Swansea City alongside Luka Modric.

According to Football One, Swansea City made the confirmation that Snoop Dogg has become the newest high-profile co-owner, with the global rap icon officially joining the club’s investor group ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The 53-year-old, who helped unveil the club’s new home shirt earlier this week, has now become the latest public figure to throw his weight behind the Welsh side, following the recent investment of Luka Modrić.

In a statement marking his arrival, Snoop said:

“My love of football is well known, but it feels special to me that I make my move into club ownership with Swansea City.

The story of the club and the area really struck a chord with me. This is a proud, working-class city and club. An underdog that bites back, just like me.

I’m proud to be part of Swansea City. I’m going to do all I can to help the club and I look forward to getting to know all my YJBS.”

Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus Jr., is one of the most influential names in music, with over 35 million albums sold worldwide and 17 Grammy nominations to his name. Known for his long-standing love of football and once a FIFA video game ambassador, his involvement is seen as a move that could significantly boost the club’s global appeal.

A mural of the new investor has already been unveiled on the West Stand of the Swansea.com Stadium, marking the beginning of what the club hopes is a long and fruitful partnership.

Chief executive Tom Gorringe commented:

“It is very exciting for us as a football club to formally welcome Snoop Dogg as a co-owner and investor into Swansea City.

He has often spoken of his desire to get more involved in the sport, and we’re delighted he sees Swansea as the right platform.

Dogg is passionate about this project and committed to helping us raise the club’s profile around the world.”

Snoop’s arrival comes just months after Luka Modrić, who recently signed for AC Milan, took a minority stake in the club following his Real Madrid departure.

The Croatian legend joined the ownership group alongside Andy Coleman, Brett Cravatt, Nigel Morris, and Jason Cohen, following the November buyout of Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan.

Recall that Modric was reported by Softfootball to have joined AC Milan after a heroic career with Real Madrid, where he won over 20 trophies.

Modrić described his decision as “an exciting opportunity” and added:

“Swansea has a strong identity, an incredible fan base, and the ambition to compete at the highest level.

My goal is to support the club’s growth and help build an exciting future.”

Swansea finished 11th in the Championship last season, and while the on-field target remains promotion, the off-field backing is stronger than ever, with star power now officially part of the Swans’ DNA.
