Liverpool manager Arne Slot faced the media ahead of the Reds’ much-anticipated European clash against Real Madrid, the Dutch coach reflected on Trent Alexander-Arnold’s return to Anfield, the importance of the fans, and the challenge that awaits his side against the Spainsh giants, Softfootball reports.
It’s been a defining period for Liverpool, who have had to show character in recent weeks. Slot’s calm and composed demeanor has been a steady presence as he continues to guide his squad through a demanding run of fixtures.

Speaking to reporters during the press conference shared via Liverpool’s youtube channel, Slot touched on Trent Alexander-Arnold’s return, the vital role of the fans, and what he’s seen from the Spanish giants this season.
On Trent Alexander-Arnold’s return to Anfield, Slot couldn’t hide his admiration for the former vice-captain, He said;
I can only tell you what kind of reception he will get from me. I have great memories of the player and the human being. He was our vice-captain last season, and my memories of working with him are all positive.
I can remember multiple great moments of him wearing the Liverpool shirt. He’ll get a warm welcome from me, that’s for sure. Let’s first wait and see if he’s on the pitch tomorrow and how the fans react, but from me, it will be warm.
Slot also had a message for the Liverpool supporters, urging them to create another electrifying Anfield atmosphere just like in their previous home match.
I can say to them, ‘Show up tomorrow and help us again like you did on Saturday.’ They were a big help for the team.
We’re facing another team in great form, like Aston Villa was as well. It’s always great to play at home, and I think Anfield showed on Saturday how important they can be for us. Let’s hope the players and fans can do the same again tomorrow evening.

When asked about the changes he’s noticed in Real Madrid compared to the side Liverpool faced last season, Slot spoke with respect for the Spanish champions while maintaining belief in his own team, he explained;
It’s hard to compare this game with last season because, back then, Madrid had a lot of injuries and now they don’t. They’ve kept most of the team the same.
Xabi Alonso is doing an incredible job at Madrid, but Carlo Ancelotti did the same before him. They’ve added a few new players, which can influence the style a bit, but they remain a top side. They’ve been a big force in this competition for years, but we are also a very good team.
Slot’s words reflected calm confidence ahead of the heavyweight tie. With Anfield set for another electric European night, the Dutch manager will have to do without key players like Alexander Isak but will rely on their current squad and will be counting on the home crowd to make the difference as they seek a statement win against Real Madrid.
