Sevilla have been dealt an injury setback after confirming that Nigerian forward Akor Adams sustained a thigh injury during training, an issue that is expected to keep him out of action for several weeks.
Softfootball reports the LaLiga club announced the injury following medical assessments carried out after Thursday’s training session.
According to Sevilla, Adams suffered a myotendinous injury to the rectus femoris in his right thigh, while teammate Sambi Lokonga also picked up a hamstring problem during the same session. The club is closely monitoring both players as they begin their respective rehabilitation programmes.

The setback comes at an unfortunate time for Adams, who recently made his Sevilla debut in the goalless draw against Getafe after completing his move during the January transfer window. The 24-year-old had been hoping to establish himself quickly in the squad before the injury halted his progress.
Early estimates suggest the Nigerian striker could spend between four and 12 weeks recovering, depending on how he responds to treatment. His absence will reduce Sevilla’s attacking options as they prepare for a challenging run of fixtures, beginning with a difficult league encounter against Barcelona.
