The search for a striker is heating up between Manchester United and Newcastle as they go head-to-head for RB Leipzig striker, Benjamin Šeško.
Softfootball understands that Šeško is open to the prospect of playing in the Premier League widely regarded as the toughest in Europe.

According to German football expert Florian Plettenberg, both clubs are desperate for a striker this summer and are in direct contact with the players representative.
Plettenberg, via his X handle revealed:
“Manchester United and Newcastle are currently in talks with Benjamin #Sesko‘s management.
“Both teams have presented their projects and financial offers. #MUFC
“The decision now lies mainly with the player and his camp. Offers are expected to be formally submitted to RB Leipzig following the verbal agreement. However, #NUFC is pushing a lot.”
Manchester United were one of the lowest scoring sides last season in the Premier League and also failed to win the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur as they lacked goals to kill off teams.

Red Devils Coach, Ruben Amorim is keen on fixing their goalscoring problem this season. He has already signed Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo but believes a prolific number nine is the final piece of the jigsaw.
The 20-time Premier League champions have already missed out on signing Liam Delap and Hugo Ekitike to Chelsea and Liverpool respectively. Leaving them with the options of signing Nicolas Jackson, Ollie Watkins or Šeško.
Šeško at 22 is still developing but has got huge potentials and would cost around €60 million plus €10m in add-ons to secure his services but a bidding war could raise the price closer to €70-80m this summer.
The report claims that Newcastle are pushing very hard to sign Šeško as they are on the verge of losing Alexander Isak to Liverpool. The Reds have been on the trail of the Swedish striker since the start of this summer and are confident of matching the Magpies’ £150milliom valuation of the player.
The Reds would move for Isak as soon as they conclude the sale of Colombian winger, Luis Diaz for €75million this week.
No decisions have been made yet on the part of Šeško on his preferred club but everything suggests that he will be a Premier League player next season if Leipzig agrees to deal with any of the interested clubs.
