Rúben Amorim sets unwanted record with lowest win rate of any Man Utd boss since WWII

Reuben Amorim has the worst win percentage of any Manchester United manager since the Second World War, adding yet another miserable record to his turbulent spell in charge of the club. The 40-year-old has won just 17, drawn 12 and lost 18 of his 47 matches in charge of the Red Devils since arriving from Sporting Lisbon last November.

Softfootball reported that Manchester United fell to another defeat under Amorim on Sunday when they were easily beaten 3-0 by neighbours Man City, who subsequently leapfrogged them in the Premier League table.

After just five games in all competitions, United have already suffered an embarrassing defeat to League Two side Grimsby, been battered by their local rivals and needed a 97th-minute penalty to squeeze past relegation favourite Burnley at home.

The under pressure manager has overseen just 36.2% victories across all competitions, with an even more concerning 25.8% win rate in the Premier League, underlining the scale of United’s struggles during his tenure. The post reads:

The pressure on Amorim has reached unprecedented levels, with Manchester United enduring a difficult run of results. Yet, despite mounting criticism from supporters and pundits alike, the Portuguese coach remains resolute in his approach.

Amorim continues to stand by his footballing philosophy, refusing to alter his style or tailor his tactics to the opposition, a stance that has further fueled debate over his future at Old Trafford.

His results are now at an undeniably poor level, after stats provided by Opta showed that he now has the worst win percentage of any Man Utd boss who has taken charge of 25 or more games in the past 80 years. Amorim has managed to come out on top in just 36.2 per cent of his games in charge of the club.

To put that into perspective, Erik ten Hag the man who Amorim replaced in the Old Trafford hot seat boasts a 54.7 per cent win percentage from his time at United. Louis van Gaal’s win rate was 52.43%, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer 54.17%

While David Moyes, who was sacked in his first season in charge, managed a win percentage of 52.9 per cent. Compared to Sir Alex Ferguson’s superb 59.7 per cent win percentage, Amorim’s record looks humiliating showing the extent of his issues at Old Trafford.
