Chelsea midfielder Romeo Lavia has suffered yet another injury setback, and this time it’s a quad problem that could keep him out for at least a month. The 21-year-old picked up the knock during the Blues’ 2-2 draw with Qarabag in the Champions League as reported by softfootball He lasted barely a few minutes before being subbed off, clearly upset as he walked off the pitch.

Top football journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news via his official X account, saying Lavia will be sidelined

While Chelsea’s medical team continues to help work on his recovery from the full damage. Romano’s update added to fears that the midfielder’s luck with injuries hasn’t turned yet

Speaking after Saturday’s Premier League win against Wolves, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca admitted it’s a tough one to take.
Romeo felt pain again in his quad. We tried to manage his load, to bring him back carefully, but it happened again,” Maresca said. “Right now, we just have to wait for more tests.
It’s been a rough ride for Lavia since joining Chelsea from Southampton in August 2023. He’s missed over 560 days through different injuries and, incredibly, hasn’t completed a full 90 minutes in a Chelsea shirt yet.
So far this season, he’s only featured seven times in all competitions, with another muscle issue during the Club World Cup already disrupting his return earlier in the campaign. His latest absence leaves Maresca short of midfield options, meaning players like Moises Caicedo might need to play heavier minutes in the coming weeks.
