Alejandro Garnacho could leave Chelsea this summer, but a potential move to AS Roma has hit an early stumbling block over the structure of the deal.
Softfootball previously reported that Roma had made an initial inquiry for the Argentine winger as Gian Piero Gasperini looks to strengthen his attacking options ahead of the new season.
Garnacho has emerged as one of the key profiles on Roma’s shortlist, with the Serie A club impressed by the 2004-born forward’s pace, direct dribbling and outstanding one-on-one ability.
However, Chelsea are currently only willing to sanction a permanent transfer, a condition that Roma are not prepared to meet at this stage.

As things stand, the Italian club will not advance negotiations unless the deal structure changes, with alternative formulas—such as a loan or more flexible terms—likely required to revive discussions.
For now, Roma’s interest remains genuine, but any move for Garnacho will depend on Chelsea softening their stance on the transfer conditions.
