Rodrigo Gomes scored on his return from injury as Wolves booked their spot in the FA Cup fourth round after comfortably advancing past League Two side Shrewsbury Town at Molineux, Softfootball reports.
The Old Gold after enjoying a 1-1 draw against Manchester United at the end of 2025 has enjoyed positive results and has never looked back since then and took the form into the FA Cup.
Star striker, Jorgen Strand Larsen and Jhon Arias put the Old Gold in control by half-time, with John Marquis briefly reducing the deficit from the penalty spot between Wolves’ second and third goals.

However, a dominant second-half display saw Strand Larsen complete his hat-trick, and substitutes Rodrigo Gomes and Tolu Arokodare further adding to the scoreline.
Marshall Munetsi, who openly talked about fake agents disturbing the growth of young African footballers was not in the starting line-up.
After the match, Rodrigo Gomes told the club’s official X handle, that he is delighted to return. He said:
My injury was a tough moment, but the staff did everything, always pushing me to return. And the return was unbelievable with the goal, I’m very, very happy and now we keep going.

Wolves have won back-to-back goals at Molineux for the first time this season in all competitions. They would hope to replicate it in the premier league as they hope to escape relegation this season.
