The 23 year old joined Manchester United from Royal Antwerp in a £18.2 million deal and signed a 5 year contract with the club. His early performance have been very impressive. He made his first impression by keeping a clean sheet on his debut in United’s 2-0 win over Sunderland.

Rio Ferdinand lauds Lammen for his calming influence, which has brought a sense of assurance to the team. Speaking via Rio Ferdinand Presents, he shared on the podcast’s official X handle:

His good vibrations reverberate through the team which leads to confidence, security, assuredness.

Ferdinand compared the Lammens to the club’s former goalkeeper, Edwin van der Sar, describing him as a fantastic goalkeeper, just a common influence and just so reassuring. He also observes Lammens integration with the team, how the goalkeeper bonded with his new teammates. He said:

You saw the way the lads celebrated and all of them around the goalkeeper. It’s his second game by the way.

It was almost like he’d been there a couple of years. It was like this is what we do, and it was so nice to see that togetherness. The celebrations are big key for me. They’re a big marker.

Softfootball reported earlier that Head Coach Ruben Amorim also praised Senne Lammen, saying his strong performance gave the team confidence.

Ferdinand also highlighted that Lammens’ success was boosted by the support of his teammates, while also stressing how important it is for everyone to be reason.

United’s goalkeeping situation has been a struggle as its marked by injuries, inconsistent form and departures like Andre Onana.

The arrival of Lammens gives hopes to the club to achieve the consistency and reliability it has been missing. His early success shows that he could be a key figure in United revival following the club’s struggle.
