Richarlison’s goal celebration against Manchester United was stupid – O’Hara

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Jamie O’Hara has slammed Brazilian striker, Richarlison for over celebrating his goal against Manchester United on Saturday evening, Softfootball reports.

Spurs were held 2-2 at home by Manchester United in the Match-Day 11 of the premier league and O’Hara was enraged by the fact that Thomas Frank’s side couldn’t see out the win in front of their home fans.

Speaking during talkSPORT official podcast, O’Hara did not hold back as he made his feelings known about how Richarlison handled himself at the last minutes of the game. He said:

He scores in the 91stminute, Richarlison. So, he goes off celebrates, gets his tats out, shirt off, gets booked and you are like, so he’s wasted a minute. You go 92, 93 minutes…and they scored in the 96th minute, its almost like two or three minutes, you can’t see out.

Tottenham Hotspur had lost 1-0 to Chelsea in a London derby the previous weekend and were desperate for a win against the team they beat to win the UEFA Europa League final at the end of last season.

However, it was Manchester United that went in front through Bryan Mbeumo. Red Devils goalkeeper, Senne Lammens made excellent saves to deny Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven but substitute, Mathys Tel got himself freed from the tight grip of De Ligt and powered a right foot shot into the net.

Brazilian striker Richarlison then flicked Wilson Odobert’s long-range shot past Lammens to give Spurs a very late 2-1 lead but the Red Devils had the last laugh as Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt headed home the equaliser from a Bruno Fernandez corner kick to end the pulsating game 2-2.
