Real Madrid made three changes to the starting XI that faced Valencia last weekend with Eduardo Camavinga, Rau Asencio and Brahim Diaz coming in for the injured duo Aurelien Tchouameni and Franco Mastantuono while Eder Militao was benched.
For the home side, Pedro Diaz went off early after he hits the deck off the ball, clutching his knee. He has to limp off afterwards and was replaced by Pacha Espino. Rayo goalkeeper Augusto Batalla then completely miskicks a clearance, slicing it behind for a corner but luckily for him Real Madrid did not score from the setpiece.
Vinicius Junior looked lively but it was Turkish sensation, Arda Guler that tested the goalkeeper but his left foot shot was saved by Augusto Batalla in goal. Federico Valverde, who survived an injury scare to make the starting line up was solid at the back as he was deployed as a makeshift right back in the match.

The game was cagey and no spaces were left for Real Madrid star players like Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham to cause damage as the match finished goalless. However, Real Madrid’s official X handle they posted a skill video by Bellingham from the match. Watch below.
