Nigeria international Josh Maja has emerged as a transfer target for several clubs ahead of the January transfer window, with Southampton, Bournemouth and Ipswich Town all showing interest in the West Bromwich Albion forward, Softfootball reports.

Maja has enjoyed an impressive campaign in the Sky Bet Championship, scoring 10 goals and providing two assists in 24 appearances for the Baggies. His consistent performances have attracted attention from clubs looking to strengthen their attacking options.

The Premier League trio are expected to pursue the striker when the transfer market reopens, but they are unlikely to have a clear path to his signature.

Spanish sides Celta Vigo and Valencia are also monitoring the Nigerian, with Valencia believed to have a strong advantage following the appointment of former West Brom manager Carlos Corberán. The Spanish coach reportedly hopes to reunite with Maja after previously working with him in England.

The 26-year-old is no stranger to the Premier League, having previously featured for Fulham, and a return to the English top flight could be on the cards if one of his admirers completes a deal in January.
