Arsenal have two new fitness concerns with Piero Hincapie did not make the matchday squad against Manchester City due to an unspecified injury while Noni Madueke was substituted at half time with a knee concern.
The former PSV star has been sent for scans and joins Gabriel Jesus (ACL), Kai Havertz (knee) and Martin Odegaard (shoulder) on the sidelines for now. Bukayo Saka and Ben White returned at the weekend from injury.
Both are in contention to start on Wednesday, while Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly should also be among a number of changes.
Max Dowman, who was in the Arsenal squad against Athletic Bilbao in the UEFA Champions League is likely to start alongside Bukayo Saka.
Port Vale’s forward Mo Faal, who is on-loan from Wrexham has now recovered from a hamstring injury and set to face Arsenal.
Liam Gordon is likely to miss the Arsenal match after he was forced off injured during the win over Mansfield while Kyle John has been ruled out for the next few games due to a muscle problem.
