Paris Saint-Germain 4-0 Atalanta; French champions continue European dominance

Paris Saint-Germain swept aside Atalanta with a convincing 4-0 victory at the Parc des Princes, as captain Marquinhos set the tone early before further strikes from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Nuno Mendes, and Gonçalo Ramos sealed a commanding win, Softfootball reports.

The hosts made a perfect start when Marquinhos found the net inside three minutes, converting from close range after a well-worked move. The early goal gave PSG control, and they continued to push forward with chances falling regularly across the first half.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who made the line-up despite a slight knock during PSG’s 2-0 win over Lens, also doubled the lead in the 39th minute, cutting inside before driving a powerful finish into the corner. Just before the break, Bradley Barcola had the chance to put the game beyond doubt from the penalty spot, but his effort was off target.

After the restart, PSG’s dominance continued. In the 51st minute, Nuno Mendes added a third, cutting inside and squeezing a strike inside the near post to effectively end the contest. Luis Enrique’s side remained in complete control and finished the evening in style when substitute Gonçalo Ramos, capitalising on Raoul Bellanova’s error, struck in stoppage time to round off the scoring.
