Victor Osimhen’s Galatasaray suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat to AZ Alkmaar in the first leg of their Europa League playoff tie.

The Nigerian striker was unavailable for the encounter due to a disciplinary issue, leaving Galatasaray without one of their leading attacking options.

AZ Alkmaar took control of the match with goals from Tony Parrott, Jordy Clasie, David Wolfe and Sven Mijnans, while Roland Sallai scored Galatasaray’s only goal.

The result leaves the Turkish champions with a difficult task in the return leg as they attempt to overturn a three-goal deficit.
