Super Eagles defender Gabriel Osho was unavailable as Auxerre suffered a 2-0 defeat to Toulouse in their Ligue 1 encounter on Sunday.

Softfootball understands that Osho, who has featured in 10 league matches this season and received one yellow card, was not included in Auxerre’s matchday squad for the trip.

Toulouse took control of the contest in the first half, with former Premier League striker Joshua King opening the scoring in the 32nd minute after finishing clinically past the Auxerre goalkeeper.

The hosts doubled their advantage just seven minutes later when captain Vincent Sierro found the back of the net, capping a dominant first-half display.

Auxerre struggled to respond after the break despite enjoying more possession, as Toulouse remained defensively disciplined and prevented the visitors from creating any clear-cut chances.

The defeat leaves Auxerre in eighth place on the Ligue 1 table with 19 points, while Toulouse climbed to 13th with 18 points, narrowing the gap between the two sides.

Auxerre will now look to bounce back in their next league outing, with hopes that Osho will be available to strengthen their defensive line after missing Sunday’s fixture.
