Raphael Onyedika was forced off with an injury during Club Brugge’s Belgian Jupiler Pro League match against Standard Liege on Sunday.

The midfielder was replaced in the 23rd minute, though the club did not immediately disclose the specific nature of the setback Softfootball gathered.

This incident marks the third time a Super Eagles player has suffered an injury in just two days, following similar setbacks for Semi Ajayi and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.

Both players were injured in their respective league games on Saturday, with Ajayi going off for West Brom and Dele-Bashiru sustaining an ankle issue for Lazio.

The cluster of injuries raises significant concerns for new Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle ahead of next month’s crucial World Cup qualifiers. Nigeria is scheduled to face Rwanda in Kigali on March 21 before hosting Zimbabwe in Uyo four days later.

With key midfielders and defenders potentially unavailable, Chelle will need to assess his squad depth carefully as the team prepares for these vital fixtures.
