Olympique Lyon Close to Securing Real Madrid’s Young Star Endrick on Loan

2 Min Read

Olympique Lyon are on the verge of landing Real Madrid’s 19-year-old striker, Endrick, on a six-month loan deal, expected to be wrapped up by January 2026. Multiple sources, including sports expert Fabrizio Romano via his official X account, have confirmed the move, with one key point: no buy option. Softfootball understands that Real Madrid want to keep full control of the Brazilian’s future, and that’s non-negotiable.

Fabrizio posted:

Premier League interest from clubs like Manchester United and Aston Villa reportedly fell apart. Both sides wanted a purchase clause in the deal, and Madrid simply said no. Lyon, however, agreed to the straight loan terms, putting them in pole position.

Endrick has barely played this season, clocking only 11 minutes under Xabi Alonso. He’s keen for regular minutes, especially with the 2026 World Cup on the horizon, especially after Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti came out to publicly back him in a recent interview. Lyon looks like a smart destination; Portuguese-speaking manager Paulo Fonseca knows his game; the Ligue 1 project is competitive; and there’s Europa League football too. Seems perfect for him to grow.

Real Madrid see the move as a way for Endrick to regain confidence and rhythm after a tough start to the season. For Lyon, who are short up front after losing Alexandre Lacazette and Georges Mikautadze, Endrick could bring some fresh energy and dynamism.

Talks are described as “very advanced”, and only small details remain to be sorted. If all goes well, Endrick could be in Lyon colours very soon, ready to make an impact in France and hopefully get some serious game time before the summer.
