Softfootball understands that Dani Olmo has turned down interest from Saudi Pro League clubs, choosing to remain fully committed to Barcelona despite the lure of higher wages. This was shared by Fabrizio Romano on his official X account.

The Spanish international, who wears the number 20 shirt for Barça, has made it clear that his priority is continuing his project at the club. This decision comes even as Barcelona navigate ongoing financial challenges in 2026, reinforcing Olmo’s focus on sporting ambition over financial incentives.

Romano stated:

Dani Olmo never considered any move to Saudi Pro League recently as his full focus has always been on Barcelona. Barça exit, not in Olmo’s plans at this stage even in case of huge salary proposals from Saudi.

Olmo joined Barcelona from RB Leipzig in 2024 and has since become an important part of the squad. Despite dealing with a muscle issue late last year, he remains central to the club’s plans moving forward.

His commitment is seen as a positive signal for stability within the team as they aim to compete at the highest level domestically and in Europe.

Meanwhile, Barcelona have also taken steps to secure their future by extending the contract of promising youngster Shane Kluivert until June 2028. The 18 year old, son of former Barça striker Patrick Kluivert, is regarded as a key prospect within the club’s development system.

The extension reflects Barcelona’s continued emphasis on nurturing young talent while maintaining a competitive first-team squad.

These developments highlight a dual approach at the club, retaining established players like Olmo while investing in the next generation, as Barcelona look to build a sustainable and successful future.
