Arsenal’s summer signing Christian Norgaard has revealed that his debut appearance at the Emirate stadium was electrifying, Softfootball reports.
Christian Nørgaard says it “felt right” to finally walk out at the Emirates as an Arsenal player and not the opposition after scoring on his home debut in the Gunners’ penultimate pre-season fixture.

Although Arsenal lost in the encounter, Norgaard had some respite after scoring the Gunners’ first goal during the club’s 2-3 defeat to Villarreal that was captured by Softfootball on Wednesday night.
The Danish midfielder, a summer arrival from Brentford, pulled one back with a powerful header from a Gabriel Martinelli corner, marking his first appearance in red and white on home turf with a goal. But speaking after the final whistle, the 30-year-old admitted the moment was slightly bittersweet.

Speaking about his debut, Norgaard told the Arsenal media this:
“It was fantastic of course, walking onto the pitch knowing you’re an Arsenal player.
“I’ve tried a few times being in the opposing team and it’s more fun to wear the Arsenal shirt! It was a big moment scoring too but it’s hard to really enjoy it when we didn’t win.”
Despite their second consecutive defeat, Nørgaard believes Arsenal’s performance offered promising signs, especially in terms of structure and control.
He said:
“It’s just the final execution at both ends.
“They had two or three chances and scored them all. We had so many good moments but just couldn’t finish the actions. That’s what we need to work on now and if we do, I think we’ll be fine.”
Speaking about Arteta’s parading of the six summer signings, Norgaard said,
“I think for me, it’s nice not being the only new guy in class!
“Everyone’s been really welcoming. It’s such an easy dressing room to be part of. I’ve really enjoyed my first month and hopefully there’s plenty more good months to come.”
Arsenal’s next game is against Athletic Club, who lost to Liverpool on Saturday, 9th August.
