Bayern Munich once again showed why they are one of the most feared teams in Europe after pulling off a dramatic 3-2 comeback win over Freiburg, and as Softfootball reported, this was the kind of result that reminded everyone why the Bavarians are still a machine, even without Harry Kane.

It looked like a frustrating afternoon for Vincent Kompany’s side for long stretches, but by full-time, it had turned into one of their most thrilling wins of the season.

Bayern started the game with their usual control, dominating possession and trying to pin Freiburg back, but the match suddenly flipped after the break. Just 39 seconds into the second half, Johan Manzambi stunned Bayern with a long-range effort to make it 1-0.

Things got even worse in the 71st minute when Lucas Höler doubled Freiburg’s lead after a deflection off Kim Min-Jae wrong-footed the defence. At that point, Bayern looked like they were heading for a shock defeat.

But then came the response. Tom Bischof completely changed the mood of the match. He pulled one back in the 81st minute with a composed finish, and just when Freiburg thought they had survived, he struck again in stoppage time to make it 2-2. Bayern were not done. Deep into the 99th minute, 18-year-old Lennart Karl arrived at the perfect moment to tap home Alphonso Davies’ low cross and complete an astonishing late turnaround. From 2-0 down to 3-2 up, it was pure chaos and pure Bayern.

After the final whistle, Bayern posted the result on their X handle and fans immediately flooded the comments with emotion, excitement, and a lot of belief ahead of the upcoming clash with Real Madrid. Richii wrote,

My life belongs to this club man🥹🥹,

while Laykon said,

I love this family ❤️🤍.

Dayo was already looking ahead to Europe, posting,

This is BAYERNNN ❤️❤️❤️ Bring on Madrid!!

and Aaron made it clear what is now on many minds by saying,

We need Kane on Tuesday.

A lot of the attention from fans, though, went straight to Tom Bischof after his game-changing display. Yashen summed up the mood by writing,

What a fking comeback, Bischof is the TRUTHHH!

while Moody added,

Bischof made such a big comeback 🔥 (be careful about this man, cause he can change everything in a few minutes).

Mattck also captured the bigger picture of Bayern’s mentality this season, saying,

Team this season….. Is just incredible. They can play a terrible game and still turn this around. 👏 Absolute cinema.

Even Justemms joined the reactions with a bold statement, writing,

Bayern should try and play in the premier league next season let’s see how good they are.

That confidence from the fans is not coming from nowhere. Bayern have looked frightening in 2026. Softfootball also reported on Bayern Munich begin 2026 in scary form as they destroy Wolfsburg at the Allianz Arena, a game that ended in an 8-1 demolition and sent a warning to the rest of Germany.

There was also Fans React to Bayern Munich’s 5-1 Victory Over Hoffenheim, another dominant outing that further showed how ruthless this team can be when they find rhythm.

What makes this Freiburg comeback even more impressive is that Bayern did it without Harry Kane, who missed the game through injury. His absence was definitely felt, especially when Bayern were chasing the game, but the comeback proved this side has more than one way to hurt opponents.

Now the big question is whether Kane will be fit in time for the trip to Madrid. If he is, and Bayern carry this same fighting spirit into the Santiago Bernabéu, then Real Madrid know they are in for a serious battle.
