Nick Woltemade enjoyed a special debut for Newcastle United as he gave the Magpies their first win of the season by scoring the only goal in a 1-0 victory over Wolves, Softfootball reports.
The German international did enough in 65 minutes that he was involved to assure home fans hope they have found a suitable successor to Alexander Isak who left on transfer deadline day to Liverpool.
The 23-year-old demonstrated his tidy link-up play, completing 89% of his passes, and used his 6ft 6in frame to good effect, winning three of his four aerial duels.

Woltemade only had 20 touches, fewer than any other Magpies starter, but his touch map shows he made his presence count where it matters most. He had five touches in the opposition box, including his 29th minute goal. A brilliant start for the German and Newcastle were excited by the result and shared via their official X account:

Woltemade joined Newcastle United from Stuttgart after the Magpies beat competition from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich for his services this summer. His brilliant start to life at Newcastle would be a delight for fans.
Wolves on the other hand are struggling to score this season and are yet to register a point this season after four Premier League matches.
Wolves sold Matheus Cunha to Manchester United for £65million at the summer and replaced the Brazilian with Super Eagles of Nigeria forward, Tolu Arokodare. The former Genk striker made his debut against Newcastle but failed to score.
Wolves will host Leeds United and hope to pick their first points at home this season while Newcastle hosts Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League on Thursday at Saint James’ Park before traveling to face Bournemouth on Sunday in the premier league.
